Skin Boosters in Practice

There are many skin boosters on the market. Within this module we will be focussing on Rendensity 1 by Teoxane.

Redensity 1 by Teoxane is a non-crosslinked HA skin booster comprising a high molecular weight HA at 15mg/ml with lidocaine.

Teoxane Redensity 1 combines pure hyaluronic acid with three antioxidants, eight amino acids, two minerals and a vitamin; so it repairs the skin while hydrating it.

Redensity 1 skin booster can be used across the face, neck, decolletage, and hands. When using on the face you must stay beneath the orbital rim and also avoid the upper eyelid area.

Redensity 1 is injected into the superficial dermis and can be injected with a needle, a cannula or a meso device. Redensity 1 can also be used in conjunction with microneedling.

Following a thorough consultation, which will include medical history, photographs should be taken.

The area to be treated should be thoroughly cleansed with Clinisept or similar.

The area to be treated should be marked out depending on how you are going to administer the Redensity 1- either a grid pattern of approximately 1cm squares or a line along the area to be treated (jawline, decolletage, neck bands)

Redensity 1 is then injected using micro blebs using a needle or device, or introduced into the dermal layer with a cannula.

Following the treatment, the skin must be cleansed, and a Factor 50 Sunscreen applied.

Results can be seen from 1 treatment; however, the recommended protocol is 2 or 3 treatments 1-2 weeks apart, which can then be maintained with treatment every 6-12 months.

Contraindications for treatment include pregnancy, breastfeeding, infection on the skin at the injection site.

Side effects may include bruising, slight swelling/redness, however these are self-limiting.
