Who can undertake the OTHM Level Certificate in Principles of Aesthetics

There are no formal entry requirements for this Level 3 course. Candidates should be 18 or over and have a good basic command of English in order to follow the course materials.

What is the assessment for NATA Level 3 courses?

The Level 3 Qualification is assessed by means of an online Multiple-Choice Exam, a Case Study and Practice assessment.

The practice assessment includes Direct Observations of Practice (DOPS) in facial skin care which are assessed in person by NATA staff.

What does NATA Level 3 Certificates look like?

There are 5 Units in the Level 3 Principles of Aesthetics Course:

  • Consultation and Client Care (including the workplace requirements for consultation and client Care, the principles underpinning professional consultation and client care and how to carry out a safe and effective client consultation.
  • Health & Safety (including risk assessment, consent, regulations governing products PPE etc)
  • Anatomy & Physiology (including in depth understanding of the skin, skin and other medical conditions that may require referral)
  • Skin Assessment & Skin Ageing (How the skin ages and what assessment tools and equipment you can use to assess a clients skin type and condition)
  • Providing Skin Care Treatments (knowledge of products used in skin care, how they work and how they should be used in protocols for facial skins care)
