Purpose of the Fast Track Route
The Fast Track pathway was created to give qualified practitioners the opportunity to gain an Ofqual-recognised Level 7 Diploma without duplicating training they already undertake competently.
It ensures that prior clinical experience is properly recognised through robust assessment, reflective evaluation, and academic verification — providing both professional reassurance and regulatory compliance.
This pathway fully aligns with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) standards and the requirements of the forthcoming UK aesthetic licensing framework being developed by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Who It’s Designed For
The Fast Track route is suitable for:
- Registered healthcare professionals with at least three years of injectables experience.
- Can evidence that they have consistently injected at least 20 patients per year with dermal filler and botulinum toxin.
- Practitioners who can evidence safe, ethical, and reflective clinical practice.
- Those who have undertaken CPD or informal training but require formal qualification recognition.
- Professionals seeking to prepare for future licensing and registration requirements.
How the Fast Track Works
The process is guided, supported, and verified by NATA’s assessors and education team.
1. Access Level 7 Theory Modules
You’ll receive access to all core learning units to ensure your knowledge meets current educational standards.
2. Assessment Phase
Complete a 120-question multiple-choice examination (MCQ) with a 70% pass mark, followed by your OSCE/viva assessment with a NATA assessor.
3. Reflective Practice
After your clinical assessment, you will complete two reflective pieces on areas of aesthetic medicine that have influenced your professional development or practice.
These should demonstrate critical thinking, self-awareness, and integration of theory into clinical judgement.

- “The ethical and professional considerations in patient selection for dermal filler treatment.”
- “How complication management has shaped my approach to safe and accountable aesthetic practice.”
4. Verification & Award
Once your reflections and assessments meet the learning outcomes, you’ll achieve the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies.
